One Question: Mystery Cards

Terms and Conditions

Last updated: June 30, 2026

Please read these Terms before using One Question. They cover the app experience, your private content, optional analytics and crash reports, rewarded ads, Premium purchases, and the limits of the service.

1. Agreement

By using One Question, you agree to these Terms and to any privacy disclosures shown in the app. If you do not agree, do not continue using the app.

2. Use of the app

One Question is designed for personal reflection, single-player journaling, mystery card boxes, group conversations, date-night prompts, optional local voice/video responses, avatar progress, question packs, sharing, reminders, optional rewarded ads, and optional Premium features.

3. Eligibility and responsibility

You are responsible for how you use the app and for making sure your use is lawful where you live. If a parent, guardian, school, workplace, or local law requires permission, get that permission first.

4. Respectful play

Do not use questions, shared answers, group mode, Date Night, invitations, screenshots, or social sharing to harass, shame, pressure, threaten, manipulate, or expose another person.

5. Your private content

Your typed answers, voice responses, video responses, custom questions, local progress, journal history, avatar progress, mystery box usage, and local settings are stored on your device in this build unless you choose to share, export, delete, or later enable a cloud feature.

Sensitive local app data is excluded from Android cloud backup in the production Android build. Your public Circle name, invite code, profile identifier, invite relationships, and progress counts may be sent to our Supabase-backed profile and invite registry so names remain unique, invite rewards can be applied, and invited friends can appear in leaderboards.

6. Your content

You keep ownership of answers and custom questions you write. You give the app permission to store, display, process, export, and share that content only as needed for features you use.

7. Camera, microphone, and recorded responses

Voice and video responses are optional. The app requests microphone or camera access only when you choose to record. Record only yourself or people who clearly agree to be recorded. Media responses are stored locally on the device and are not sent to us by this local build. If you share a recording, Android and the chosen social or messaging platform may receive a copy and process or upload it under their own terms and privacy rules.

8. Sharing and social platforms

If you share a question, typed answer, voice response, video response, invite, screenshot, or card to Facebook, Instagram, X, messaging apps, or another platform, that platform and the people who receive it may copy, store, reshare, upload, or use it under their own terms. Share only what you are comfortable making public.

9. Notifications and reminders

If you allow notifications, the app may send reminders about available mystery boxes, questions, Premium moments, or app activity. You can disable notifications in the app or your device settings.

10. Optional analytics and crash reports

If you choose analytics or crash reports below, the app may send product events, screen/mode/category choices, skipped questions, saved-reflection counts, Premium interest, device/app diagnostics, crash reports, WebView errors, operating system details, app version, device model, and similar stability data through Firebase. We do not send answer text, question text, custom question text, or private journal content through analytics.

11. Premium and purchases

Premium, paid question packs, subscription access, mystery box benefits, and other paid digital benefits must use Google Play Billing when distributed through Google Play. Prices, taxes, trials, renewals, cancellation flows, payment methods, refund handling, and receipts are managed by Google Play and may vary by region. Premium access should only be granted after a purchase is completed and verified.

12. Rewarded ads and ad data

Free users may choose to watch a rewarded ad to receive one extra solo mystery box credit or to reroll group/date-night mystery cards. Watching rewarded ads is optional, the reward is disclosed before the ad is shown, and the reward is non-transferable, usable only inside One Question, not cash, not a gift card, not endorsed by Google, and not convertible into money or anything outside the app.

Ads may be provided through Google AdMob and Google Mobile Ads SDK. Google and its advertising partners may collect or receive ad-related data such as IP address, approximate device or app information, product interactions, diagnostic data, advertising or device identifiers where available, and fraud-prevention signals. Where required, Google-certified consent or privacy-choice screens may be shown before ads are requested, and you may manage ad privacy choices when the app exposes that option.

13. Referrals, bonuses, and progress features

Referral bonuses, welcome mystery boxes, bonus box credits, leaderboards, avatar levels, question packs, and daily limits are app features. They may change, reset, expire, be limited, or be removed if needed for testing, abuse prevention, technical reasons, or product changes.

14. Availability and changes

The app may be updated, interrupted, unavailable, changed, or discontinued. Local data can be lost if the app is deleted, device storage is cleared, the device fails, or a build changes. Export important local data when available.

15. App content and ownership

The app name, interface, artwork, avatars, built-in questions, premium decks, code, design, and app-created assets belong to the app developer or licensors. Do not copy, sell, scrape, reverse engineer, or redistribute the app or question decks except as allowed by law.

16. No professional advice

Questions are for reflection and conversation only. The app does not provide medical, mental health, psychological, legal, financial, relationship, safety, or emergency advice. Seek qualified help for serious, unsafe, medical, legal, or financial situations.

17. Prohibited use

Do not use the app for unlawful activity, abuse, stalking, coercion, hate, sexual exploitation, self-harm encouragement, spam, fraud, payment abuse, security testing without permission, bypassing Premium, or interfering with the app, Google Play, Firebase, or other services.

18. Deletion, export, and retention

You can export or delete local data from Settings where available. You can also request deletion of your public Circle account/profile from Settings or through the public deletion page; this removes or starts removal of the Supabase profile record tied to your profile identifier, invite code, public name, invite relationships, referral connections, leaderboard profile, and public progress profile.

Deleting local data disables local consent choices and removes local progress on that device. Optional analytics, crash data, Google Play billing records, ad records, fraud-prevention records, tax/legal/security records, and records already processed by Firebase, Google Play, Google AdMob, Supabase, or required service providers may be retained according to their retention settings, legal requirements, billing records, fraud prevention, security, tax, or dispute-resolution needs.

19. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when the app changes, when laws or store policies change, or when new features are added. Important changes may be shown in the app and may require you to accept updated Terms before continuing.

20. Disclaimers and liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the app is provided as-is without guarantees that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for every user. We are not responsible for decisions you make, content you share, relationship outcomes, lost local progress, lost local data, platform outages, or third-party services beyond what the law requires.

21. Consumer rights and applicable law

Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot legally be waived, including mandatory consumer protection rights. If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, the remaining parts continue to apply as far as allowed by law.

22. Support and privacy contact

For support, privacy questions, purchase issues, or deletion questions, use the privacy/support contact listed in the Privacy Policy, the public account/profile deletion page, the Google Play store listing, or any official support channel provided in the app.
